Our Chairman receives prestigious Business Award
Each year the SA Jewish Report newspaper hosts the Jewish Achievers Awards to celebrate the remarkable achievements of members of the Jewish community. Awards are given for Arts, Culture, Humanitarian Work, Community Service and Business Achievement.
Our Chairman Ivor Ichikowitz won the hotly contested Business Leader Award for an Unlisted Company on Sunday night.
Reflecting on receiving the award, Ivor said: “This is an extremely proud moment for me and for Paramount Group. I receive this award on behalf of each and every member of the Paramount team. This is an endorsement of everyone’s effort, hard work and commitment to build this exceptional business.
“This year we celebrate 20 years of innovation. Our ability to innovate comes from the fact that we have a unique set of skills in South Africa, which resulted from our country’s rich and diverse history. This has given South Africans a “Can Do” mentality in which failure is not an option.”
Ivor added: “From our humble beginnings, Paramount Group is today recognised as a very important player in the Global Aerospace and Defence Industry. It is also recognised as one of the leading players on the African continent with the ability to produce world-class products capable of competing with the main defence technologies in the world.”
Previous winners of the awards include Raymond Ackerman (Pick and Pay), Gill Marcus (Governor of the Reserve Bank) and Adrian Gore (Founder of Discovery).
